Leading Anatomist Norman Eizenberg appointed to Advisory Board of Rapid Response Revival
Highly respected anatomist and medical educator Associate Professor Norman Eizenberg has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Australian Medtech startup Rapid Response Revival.
Norman has been involved in medical education for 40 years, teaching anatomy to medical students and surgical trainees. He holds several senior academic positions including Clinical Academic Lead (Back to Base Days), Melbourne Clinical School, University of Notre Dame Australia, and Honorary Principal Fellow, Dept. Anatomy & Neuroscience, The University of Melbourne. Norman also serves as Project Leader for An@tomedia Online (Anatomedia.com). An@tomedia is an interactive anatomy self-learning resource for health science students and practitioners.
In 2016, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and in 2015, an Outstanding Service Award from the same College of Surgeons for ‘outstanding contribution: anatomist, doctor and educationalist’.
Norman has been a coordinator of the basic science program, a member of the anatomy committee and an examiner for the College of Surgeons, a long-standing contributor to basic sciences for the College of Dental Surgeons, as well as an anatomy examiner for the College of Radiologists. He coordinated the ‘Postgraduate Diploma of Surgical Anatomy’ course for 12 years from its inception in 2000. He co-founded the ‘Minor Surgical Skills for GPs from Rural and Remote Areas’ course in 2004, and is currently its academic coordinator.
